Helpful Questions & Answers:
What should I budget for my Wedding Transportation?
This depends on the type and number of vehicles you are planning to rent. You should take into consideration that most limousine services have a rental minimum of four hours. In other words, it will be difficult to find a company that will just “pick-up” and “drop-off” since this only takes about one hour.
The reason that limousine services have a rental minimum is because the vehicles are costly business assets. Typically a one hour rental would cost more than three hours when you take into consideration travel times, vehicle expenditures and preparation. Just like you cannot rent a hotel room for just a third of the day, a limo service has a minimum requirement as well.
Do I need to pay for the limousine while it is waiting?
Yes, you must pay for the rental time during your wedding even if you are not physically using the vehicle. Although the vehicle is not in use, it cannot be used elsewhere; even when there are two or three hours in between the “pick-up” and “drop-off”.
Can my bridal party fit into the limousine?
Although a limo might be designated as a “10 passenger” limousine, it may be difficult to squeeze in 10 adults dressed in formal attire. SUV Limo's can accommodate larger parties but are a bit more expensive and limited. When shopping, make sure you specify the number of passengers you want traveling.
During prom season, (May -June) in the Okanagan, Limousine rentals are limited due to the increase in demand. Prom attendees scoop up all available services and many bridal parties are left without a wedding limousine on their Special Day.
